AcTS ''At Home Series'' with Tadashi Endo
Tadashi Endo
LEIMAY PRESENTING SERIES 2012: AT HOME
This season at Home Series offers an exciting way to be an active spectator by presenting the practice-work of Tadashi Endo.
This AcTS (Actions Though Senses) is part performance, part demonstration, part lecture, and part hands-on exploration into the principles surrounding the processes of guest teacher Tadashi Endo.
You can choose to participate as an observer audience or physically by joining the exercises and explorations.
Tadashi Endo’s Butoh-ma method aims to make the invisible visible. “Ma” is a Japanese concept related to “emptiness” and “space in between.” It suggest an interval, a consciousness of place. Throughout this, both audience and participant will explore this unique concept. Emphasis will also be placed on balance realized with energy, tension, and control. Minimal movement allows the expression of feelings and situations to grow into highest intensity.
“The dancer shall not dance- but should be danced.”
