LEIMAY PRESENTING SERIES 2012: AT HOME
This season at Home Series offered an exciting way to be an active spectator by presenting the practice-work of Kota Yamazaki.
The audience explored Kota Yamasaki’s approach to butoh and his Fluid Technique. Butoh’s approach to space and time is almost opposite from western dance forms. By imaging physical senses such as distorting, weakening, sickening, sinking and inwarding and by sensing absence and presence, a constant bodily transformation is provoked. In every moment, they were encouraged to develop and an awareness to what is occurring both inwardly and outwardly.
