Performance Workshop
Daniel Irizarry
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM 2012: LUDUS
This workshop’s focus will be the actor’s instruments – voice & body. We aim to develop a stronger physical awareness and body language on stage. To achieve this aim we use elements of Meyerhold’s
Biomechanics, commedia dell’arte, Desortre, African and Caribbean rhythm, acrobatics, and iconography. First part will be conditioning and rhythm. Second part, basic acrobatics. And the third, exploring story telling using excerpts from Aesop’s Fables and Eduardo Galeano’s ‘Memories from the Fire” texts.
