LEIMAY LUDUS IN ACADEMIC SETTINGS

LEIMAY LUDUS is a dynamic and interdisciplinary approach to movement research, performance, and embodied practice that has been embraced by universities and institutions worldwide. Led by Ximena Garnica, Artistic Director of LEIMAY Ensemble, this training methodology expands artistic inquiry across disciplines—bridging dance, theater, music, media studies, performance, and visual arts.

Ximena has held lecturer appointments, visiting professorships, and visiting artist positions at institutions including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), New York University (NYU), and the University of California, Riverside (UCR), where she was a Distinguished Visiting Professor. She has also taught at Marymount Manhattan College and Sarah Lawrence College and, alongside the LEIMAY Ensemble, has led artist residencies at Stanford University. In addition to LEIMAY Ludus, Ximena has developed multiple courses in acting, directing, devising, choreography, composition, media, and sculpture, offering a comprehensive and cross-disciplinary approach to performance education.

LEIMAY LUDUS can be integrated into university settings through semester-long courses, artist residencies, master classes, guest lectures, and visiting professorships. Whether through immersive training, interdisciplinary collaborations, or performance and exhibition residencies, LEIMAY provides students and faculty with a transformative experience that challenges euro-centric notions of body, time, and space.

We invite institutions to collaborate with Ximena Garnica, the core teaching members of the LEIMAY Ensemble, and the LEIMAY LUDUS methodology to enrich their academic programs. Contact us to explore customized engagements tailored to your university’s needs.
