We are thrilled to announce that our Co-Artistic Directors, Ximena Garnica and Shige Moriya, are currently participating in a prestigious residency at The Bogliasco Center, located in Bogliasco (Genoa), Italy. This opportunity is made possible through the generous support of the Bogliasco Foundation Fellowship.
From November 19 to December 19, 2024, Ximena and Shige are immersed in the inspiring environment of the Italian Riviera, deeply engaged in their multidisciplinary project, Extinction Rituals. This visionary project encompasses a dance opera, a video triptych, a photographic series, an environmental action campaign, and a collection of writings that delve into themes of existence, interdependence, and coexistence.
The Bogliasco Center provides a nurturing and intellectually stimulating space where artists and scholars from various disciplines are free to explore, reflect, and collaborate. As part of the Fall 2024 cohort, Ximena and Shige are pushing the boundaries of their artistic practice, fostering innovative ideas, and embarking on new creative journeys.
We are excited to share this pivotal moment in their careers and LEIMAY’s history. Stay tuned for updates on their Italian residency and the evolution of Extinction Rituals.
