Nuit

Nuit’, a butoh style dance solo with film is an abstract on the spiral of a foretold pull towards destruction and rebirth. Nature, spirit, and the predestined winds of chance irrevocably rule. Death watches in great beauty and love for these small but epic tragedies and our eternal return. It pays tribute to Nijinsky, Cocteau, Hijikata and the magical realism of surreal film noir. Originally created for the ‘Dance of Darkness’ night at Le Petit Versailles Garden as part of the Howl Festival 2005, it was also presented in Dec. 2005 at Pact Zollverein in Essen, Germany.
