The Tortoise and Dandelion

Matthew de Leon

LEIMAY PRESENTING SERIES 2011: FERMENT

He carries the weight of the past at his back, unaware of how deep and jade green the knots on his shell have become. When he curls his head back into his shell, could he be reflecting on the last hundred miles, the long stretch of his arms, or if he’s lost his way? Or is the dark hollow of his home just a place to forget for a while, to let his memories slowly crawl away?
