EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM 2015: LUDUS
This single session will be an introduction to the Yat Malmgren approach to Laban Movement Psychology and Character Analysis.
Developed by Yat Malmgren at the Drama Centre in London and based on the work of Carl Jung and Rudolph Laban, the underlying principle of this method is that conscious and subconscious behavior is reflected through our movement and gestures. By devising a psychological typography of all human beings, this method of character analysis combines Laban’s movement psychology, Jung’s character archetypes and the principles of the Stanislavski system. Yat’s system enables an actor to truthfully convey a character’s inner attitude and motivation through the body and their voice.
